About the June 2011 Unit 2 Higher Exam Quiz
There are two main versions of this quiz, the Preview and the New Style, both based on the June Unit 2 higher exam. Preview Version The Preview consists of just a sample, the first six questions, from the exam paper. In the preview you have all the standard features of a past paper quiz. You can submit your answers for marking, view the feedback with explanations and solutions to the questions and review your answers later. Preview quizzes are new, starting with the June 2011 papers. One reason for a preview is that you can try the quiz during the development and testing of the questions. You can access the Preview quiz using a 'visitor' login but the New Style quiz is different. You have to log in to the New Style with a personal username. Trying to log in as a visitor will not work. The New style quiz contains all fifteen questions from the exam - not just the first six in the case of the Preview. New Style Version In the New Style, when you make a repeat attempt, the new attempt builds on your answers from the previous attempt. Your previous answers are shown. You can then correct wrong answers based on the feedback in the earlier attempt. You can answer previously unanswered questions and then re-submit for re-marking. You may not be able to spend over an hour in one sitting doing a complete exam. You do not have to answer all the questions at the first attempt. You can complete the quiz over several sessions. After doing a few questions you can submit your answers, check your mark and the feedback, log off - then continue later and pick up where you left off. This new feature is only possible by logging in with your own username and so you have to register before you can do a New style quiz. The Lite Version The Lite version is a simplified PPQ quiz. The intention is so that you can quickly check your exam paper answers using the quiz. Most exam questions have a specific 'final answer', such as the value of x or the cost of a sale item. The full version of an exam question includes method marks as well as marks for the final answer. A full question is divided into a number of method steps so that you can get marks for the method in addition to the final answer mark. The Lite version reduces the number of steps so that, for most questions, the method is not included.
